Paper Flowers in Seattle

I’m super excited to announce that Seattleites can find my paper flowers in not one but two local shops! Lucca Great Finds, a gorgeous shop in the Ballard neighborhood, picked a beautiful selection of delicate pastel Icelandic Poppies and foliage to complete the bouquet. Pick up one of their beautiful vessels and you’ve got a great gift or perfect addition to your own home!

Farther south, you’ll find the uber trendy Paper Hammer. They picked up a veritable garden of paper flowers: multicolor zinnias, anemones, roses, poppies and more. Definitely worth the few few blocks’ walk from Pike Place Market!

Spring Cleaning SALE!

I’ve been on a cleaning and organizing kick lately. I’ve got one little corner of my studio to go and then my entire work space will be de-cluttered, de-stashed and all the dust bunnies and tiny spiders will be chased out of their homes.

Since printing up the new collection, my in-stock inventory is overflowing a bit, which really works out for you guys, because I’m having a spring cleaning sale! Through the end of May, all card orders of three or more get one additional card free! Choose the card you’d like by including a note to seller at check out, or I’ll just double up on one of the designs you’ve already chosen. Happy shopping!

Brand Spankin’ New Letterpress Cards

If you follow 622 press on Instagram or Facebook (which you definitely should), you’ve seen my new collection being posted for the last week or so! It all started with a desire to rework my classic “you are my sunshine” card, and I liked it so much I based a whole collection around it. Featuring brush lettering and hand-drawn bikes, sunbursts and birthday candles, this collection is bright, joyful and of-the-moment. Shop cards here!

Paper Flower Workshops

Sorry for being MIA, so much traveling this spring, and a death in the family added another trip home earlier in March. In better news, I am elated as I’ve just returned from teaching my first paper flower class!

A friend of mine from high school is the special events coordinator at the Milwaukee Art Museum and she reached out a few months ago to see if I would be interested in teaching a workshop during their Art in Bloom event. The workshop sold out! So over the last few weeks, I pulled together all my supplies and made hundreds of flower kits and then met 34 lovely ladies in Milwaukee on a rainy Saturday morning.

The class went really well (although I think I’ll limit future workshops to 25 people)—everyone had a lovely time and left with a poppy and anemone and supplies for a few more. I left exhausted and thrilled—turns out I love to teach! I’ll be offering classes in Wisconsin and other cities I’ll be traveling to throughout the year, but if you’re a shop owner or just someone who wants to get a handful of friends together and host a party yourself, get in touch!

March Card Club

As you may have noticed, I’m blogging less these days. A whole lot of life has been happening lately—some good, some bad—and I’ve decided to stop feeling guilty and simply write when I can.

Freelance work and owning your own business is unpredictable both in schedule and income and I’m so happy with how the first few months of the year have gone! (Feel free to help me keep it up—lots of new goodies are in my store at the moment!)

But one of my favorite constants is pulling together collections for my monthly Card Club deliveries. I had a few new subscribers this month, so I wanted to send out a variety of goodies perfect for spring. Birds and bees, butterflies and flowers were on the agenda this month! Like what you see? Join the club!
