NYC Fashion Week Wrap-up

Oh Fashion Week, how I love thee. Since I’ve been pouring over collection stills for the last couple hours, I figure I might as well share the fashion forecast with you.

Overall, there was an ethereal feeling on the runways this past week with lots of pastels and dimensional draping. Some designers (Calvin Klein) kept it simple and let the form be the focus while others (like Vera Wang) had some sort of embellishment or accessory on every model. Influences were obvious with Michael Kors and Erin Featherston drawing from retro fashion while collections from Anna Sui and Diane Von Furstenberg (love those headbands!) took viewers on a trip around the world.

Overall, spring looks like a bunch of fun and gives me just one more reason to wish we could skip winter!

Fashion Week & Liza Rietz

Hey all, happy Fashion Week! That’s right, New York Fashion Week begins tomorrow, and in the spirit of all things fashion, I’ll be posting some of my favorite handmade clothing all week. There is some seriously great stuff out there, so stay tuned!

Liza Rietz is the creator of my two favorite dresses of the moment. I love both of these which feature her perfectly pleated rows of ruffles — so in right now, I might add. Her craftsmanship is impeccable, her fabric choices are lovely . . . I can’t get enough!
