622 Studio is here!
While I was away, 622 press turned seven! This year to celebrate our birthday, I’ve launched 622 Studio: the digital version of the brick-and-mortar shop I want to have someday. Now, instead of just printed goods and stationery, I’ll be selling everything I create—textiles, art, crochet accessories, paper flowers and more—in my etsy shop!
The first new product line I launched last week are my new paper flowers! Each one is made from sheet of crepe paper that I’ve cut and molded into individual petals, then assembled around a wire stem. I add a sepal and wrap the stem with floral tape, sculpt the petals a bit more, and voila! A gorgeous flower that remains fresh all year long.
I loved figuring out the structure of each different bloom and shaping the petals to be as lifelike as possible. In the shop you’ll find individual blooms (perfect for home decor and craft projects!), ready-to-go bouquets and home decor. I’ll also be offering wedding services soon!

The other new product line I’ve launched thus far is digital art prints! I’ve shared a little bit of my watercolor work and hand-lettering here, and this is what it’s all been working toward. I scan the artwork from my sketchbook, do some photoshop and vector work and then combine them into a design I’d love to hang on my wall.
The best part about these prints is that they’re inexpensive and instantaneous: All you have to do is purchase them in my etsy shop and either print the jpg that arrives in your inbox on your home photo printer or send them over to Kinko’s, Walgreens, etc., then pop them in a frame!
Card Club: June
We’re heading out on a tropical vacation today! So this month’s Card Club package is inspired by the sun and the sea (plus a few cards for those inevitable summer weddings)!
Don’t worry, I’ve got a few posts scheduled to entertain you while I’m gone! And, there’s some fun stuff coming up later this month, so stay tuned!
May Snail Mail
I’ve done Card of the Month clubs in the past, and they were always kind of a pain, going to the post office that much. In my new life, it turns out it’s kind of great! I’m at the post office all the time anyway (plus it’s super close to our house), and sending a package every month makes me realize how quickly time is flying by.
One year ago, I was getting ready to tell the owners of my company that I was moving to Bermuda, hoping they would keep me on in some capacity, but not having any idea how that would go. Two years ago, I was on a whirlwind trip to Costa Rica with one of my dearest friends, both of us doing a little soul searching. Three years ago I was finally feeling settled in a new place, in love and happy… the year before that I was in the midst of an ugly, draining divorce. Life is crazy huh?
Anyway, the point of this post was really just to share the fun stuff I sent out in May’s Card Club! I went with a bit of a floral theme because, you know, April showers bring May flowers…. Remember, you can sign up here, or just send me an email.
Mother’s Day is coming!
My mom’s birthday is May 16, which is awfully handy since Mother’s Day (in the U.S.) is usually right around the same time. In case your mom’s birthday is not there to remind you, let me do it: Mother’s Day is in 10 days!
Lucky for you, 622 press can be your one stop shop for all things Mother’s Day. First of course, there are cards….
Then maybe a little gift? Flowers—always good. But how about something with a little heart? If your mom loves cards (mine does—duh!), our monthly Card Club lets her know you’re thinking of her all year long!
Not ready to shell out that kind of dough? One of my favorite ideas doesn’t cost much and is sure to touch her heart. Buy two sets of recipe cards (ooh! I know where you can get some!) and wrap one up to give her—bonus points if you include a nice wooden spoon or kitchen gadget. Then, hand her the second set and ask if she would write down your favorite family recipes so you’ll always have them in her handwriting. You just got a little choked up, didn’t you? No, just something in your eye? It’s ok, I won’t tell anyone!
Anyway, I hope this friendly reminder and (obviously self-serving, but still brilliant) gift ideas help! And no matter what, I hope you moms and mentors know how much you matter to us kids, young and old, today and every day.
