Neile

Butterfly Landing Ring
Butterfly Landing Ring

Neile is a jewelry design studio that employs the wings of naturally-deceased butterflies to create stunning rings and necklaces. (That show-stopper above? That’s a ring!) The wings are encased between panes of glass and surrounded by artfully placed silver solder. I love the way the natural iridescence of the wings is preserved — the perfect way for these transient insects to live on.

Molecular Muse

caffeine necklace

What do you get when you combine one part self-proclaimed science nerd with one part artistic metalsmith? Raven Hanna of Molecular Muse. She makes beautiful silver jewelry of some of our favorite molecules — seratonin, estrogen, caffeine and dopamine — and occasionally branches out into other mediums, such as the lovely ‘ethanol’ flutes below.

Jasmine Scott

20,000 Leagues ring
20,000 Leagues ring

Lately, I’m loving these retro resin rings by Jasmine Scott. Classically trained at the National Art School in Sydney, Jasmine’s work evolved into these whimsical wearables! Each one is cast and finished by hand, creating a unique piece every time. I love the depth of the color and the way she uses the medium itself to create the unique patterns that look like wisps of smoke.

Sterling Silver Grey Urchin Ring
Sterling Silver Grey Urchin Ring

Star of the East is a mother-daughter duo in Turkey creating quite a variety of work with local materials. My favorite pieces by Esther and Estella are their urchin rings made of found shells. They’re so intricate and perfect — absolutely beautiful. They are lucky ladies to live where they do!
