June & July Card Club — and an update!

You guys, I have just been the worst blogger lately! A little bit of writer’s block, a little bit of being overbooked… a whole lot of super short or non-existent blog posts!

As you know (or if you don’t, scroll back through the blog, I’ve had some fun projects lately!), I have been super busy—wedding season is in full swing! In addition to the amazing paper flower project I posted about a few weeks ago, I’ve designed two non-letterpress save the dates for 2017 brides and hand-painted graphics for two more real wedding invitations, and three more for styled shoots! Check back to see all of those (and even more watercolor wedding invites!) in the coming weeks, and in the mean time, here’s a sneak peek of Julie’s invitations:

In addition to all this bridal goodness, I’ve also been designing new cards! You’ll have to wait till the holidays to see most of them, but keep an eye out for new birthday, thank you and sympathy cards in the mean time! A few of the latest and greatest designs are sure to be included in next month’s card club, so now is a great time to join! Here’s the link.

And of course, speaking of Card Club, I forgot to post July’s collection—again! Last month I was feeling the beach vibes, so I built the collection around shades of yellow, turquoise and sand.

COTM_716_4676This week, I’m feeling all pink all the time (just check out my instagram feed!), and mixing in some bright orange—plus bikes and balloons!—feels just right for summer! For a fun surprise, subscribers also received a 5″x7″ print of my watercolor bloom design from the Digital Prints section of my shop!

COTM_816_5125I absolutely love putting these collections together each month, so if you or someone you know loves getting mail, join the club today!

Hello, again

Happy January, friends! Sorry I’ve been away for so long! Just after New Year’s, we left on a ten-day trip to the Bahamas. It’s a bit of a long story why we ended up there in January, but it was actually really good to have something to look forward to after the holidays.

I thought I’d get some blogging done while lounging by the pool, but as it turns out the weather was rainy and the orders were pouring in! While I was away, I designed two sets of business cards and started on two wedding orders! Printing plates should be here soon, I can’t wait to share them with you!

While we were traveling and since we’ve been back home I’ve been on an embroidery kick. It actually started just before Thanksgiving, when I got a wild hair to make embroidered napkins for all 10 of our dinner attendees. be_brave_0488

The typography was so fun to work on that the first two hoops I tackled were type-based, of course! I just love the way calligraphy looks outlined in thread. suddenly_0499

My latest two projects are my favorites—of course! The cacti hoop above is super cute and reminds me of an amazing hike in Arizona I took a few years ago. It’s also special because it was completely freehand—whereas usually I draw designs on paper first, trace them onto the fabric and stitch over my lines. I love how it turned out!

And then of course there’s this sweet reminder of home. I love it so much I’m keeping this one and offering them for custom order with any state (or country) and city—plus custom colors! home_sweet_state_0504

New year, new everything!

Happy 2015, dear readers! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, Solstice or Eighth Night, and a fabulous New Year’s eve! I got to spend 12 lovely (if cold) days in Wisconsin visiting friends and spending quality time with my family. It was a much needed visit—I’d been pretty homesick throughout December—but now I’m glad to be home and getting back to work and a normal routine.

I did use the two days I spent in airports to design some readymade wedding invitations. I’ve always created completely custom pieces up till this point, but I understand that can be overwhelming for some couples, and sometimes they get in touch too late and there just isn’t time for several weeks of design. Look for those to be unveiled soon! (And if you’re getting married this summer, don’t wait to get in touch!)

Shipping to Bermuda is suuuuper pricey, so I sent a bunch of supplies to my parents’ house while I was there—including printing plates for a new collection! I’ve decided to freshen things up with two big collections this year, and a few smaller releases for holidays in between. I’m hoping to expand my wholesale market, so if you know of any locally owned shops that would be a good fit for 622 press please let me know so I can send them some samples!

profile_pic_smSpeaking of fresh—I also ordered new paper to print myself new business cards and note cards featuring 622 press’ new logo, plus new packaging for stationery sets. It was a little bit of an investment, but I’m so excited to finally be bringing the business up to the next level.
