I picked up this vintage cut two summers ago and I’m still surprised at how well it prints! For now I’ll have to be satisfied with just this one “Day of Christmas,” but if anyone happens across other pieces from the set, please let me know! Card available here.
I harbor a small obsession with owls. Luckily, Fruit Fly Pie ceramics has just the fix for me! Wendy’s etsy shop is chock full of planters, vases, dishes and more modeled after this whimsical animal. They’re slip cast from vintage ceramic molds and finished with non-toxic, lead free & food safe glazes. She also offers a variety of other vessels made from vintage designs — from cupcakes to turtles — including this adorable deer!
Lately, I’ve been getting back into typography. I finally began several projects using all my vintage wood and lead type — one notecard is featured here, lots more to come! You can pick up this card here. I love the impression the lead type leaves — it’s so incredibly deep and clean. And you can actually see the slightly bumpy surface of the wood type (“HELLO”) on the card.
I’ve also been lusting after several sculptural pieces that I can’t wait to have in my house. I’ve been dreaming of creating a home office with a full wall covered in 3-D typography for years now, and hopefully I’ll get to do it soon. A few pieces to get me started:
These stainless steel letterforms were rescued from a 1950’s era New York parking garage that was being demolished in 2002. They are available here.

Amanda Brown and Lizzie Joyce of Spruce design studio combine their backgrounds in art and their love for vintage decor to update furniture sure to “spruce your space.” And while with a little luck anyone can find a great vintage piece, this duo also has an amazing collection of fabrics with which they reupholster their pieces and a great eye for combining colors.
One of my favorite jewelers on etsy, Beth of Rag Trader creates fabulous metal creations from vintage molds. Now all I have to do is decide which to buy first: the Octo necklace or wing earrings!
